The series explores the aesthetics of vintage travel photography as present in past issues of the german magazine ‘Merian’.
Compared to the contemporary standards of the tourism industry the black and white photographs from the 50s and the 60s carry a distant and melancholic atmosphere. The fragmentation of the photographs alienates the images further so that the depicted places appear as though they never existed. Ongoing series, 14 x 21 cm
